Rod Rehm is the senior member, founder and principal owner of Rehm, Bennett and Moore. Mr. Rehm has been practicing law since 1973 and has experience is a wide variety of trial oriented law. Rod has been both a prosecutor and a criminal defense attorney earlier in his career. He personally tried jury trials lasting up to 6 weeks and was one of the founding board members of the Nebraska Criminal Defense Attorneys Association in the 70s and 80s.
Rod has limited his practice to civil law since approximately 1985 so he could focus on personal injury, wrongful death and workers compensation cases as they began to dominate his time. In 1987 the Nebraska Association of Trial Attorney's made Mr. Rehm a member of its board of directors and he still serves in that capacity. Rod served a president of the association in 1997. He has also served as chairman of the legislative committee, chairman of the workers compensation committee and chairman of the political action committee. Rod has presented seminar materials for this group on trial practice issues, brain injury cases, mediation and workers compensation. From 1992 to 1993 Rod served as the Nebraska Association of Trial Attorney's representative on the Governors Workers Compensation Task Force and was successful in fighting to preserve important workers rights such as choice of doctor.
On the national level, Rod is a sustaining member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and has been a seminar speaker at its annual convention. After serving on the Governors Task Force Rod became a member of the Workplace Injury Advocacy Law Group a national group of lawyers organized to fight for injured workers rights against business and insurance ongoing efforts to limit benefits and take away those rights. He has been a board of director member since 1997 as well as an officer in 2002 and 2003. Rod has been a seminar speaker for this group in North Carolina, Colorado and Connecticut and is scheduled to speak in Montana in October of 2005. Rod has been designated as a Union Privilege lawyer for more than 10 years. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates which is a by invitation trial lawyers group requiring extensive documented jury trial experience.
Rod works in both offices and is well acquainted with Nebraska lawyers and judges who handle personal injury, wrongful death and workers compensation cases. In the 90's Rod served on the governing body of the Nebraska State Bar Association and has presented seminar speeches and papers for this association for more than 20 years on a variety of topics such as computer generated evidence, workers compensation, and damages in personal injury cases. He served a board member and chairman of the Workers Compensation section of the Nebraska State Bar Association in 90s. Nebraska lawyers evaluate and rate lawyers for Martindale and Hubbell, the most respected lawyer rating service and Mr. Rehm has had the top rating continuously for nearly 20 years.
